Matter Conduit

The Matter Conduit is the Hierarchy's primary (and only non-Walker) super weapon structure.

Usage Edit

Basically a massive transmitter, the Matter Conduit consists of four arches leading to a central dish wich releases the signal to launch the super weapon through a hole in the roof.
Once charged, the Matter Conduit orders a bombardment of junk ranging from Novus Global Transport husks to tanks to bovine at the targeted area, dealing great damage to anything that is hit and also providing a small amount of resources for recollection.

While not as powerful as the Radiation Cascade, the Mass Drop is good for softening up an enemy base (namely turrets) or for providing a small supply of resources in long battles.

Trivia and tips Edit

  • The Mass Drop works quite similarly to the Orbital Bombardment super weapons of Petroglyph's previous title, Forces of Corruption, to the point of sharing much of the same coding.
  • The Mass Drop is particularly useful for taking out either clumps of important structures such as Recycling Centers or Matter Engines (particularly Matter Engines as they are liable to take out anything else nearby when they explode) or tightly packed turret fortifications.
  • It is revealed in the Hierarchy campaign that all orbital weaponry had been depleted by their bombarding of the Masari city ship (and likely more than a few human cities), thus explaining the makeshift nature of the superweapon's ammunition.
  • Interestingly, the Matter Conduit's Glyph closely resembles the Purifier viewed from above.
  • In the Universe at War Beta, calling down a Mass Drop would cost a certain amount of funds. However, this feature was removed. Within the final game's XML, the weapon still has the coding for this but the cost is set to 0.
  • Building your Matter Conduit near your starting Arrival Site is ill advised as it is a logical place to find and destroy it.Try hiding it near a Walker or Neutral Structure or even a second Arrival Site.
