General

Matter Engines produce resources for the Masari. They also store resources. When destroyed, they explode and cause damage over a large area (805 damage, plus 5 burning damage per second for 3 seconds).

Matter Engines explode and do significant damage to everything near them, so it's a wise for a Hierarchy player to avoid stepping on them with their walkers. The Masari should also take care when constructing several Matter Engines, as building them too close together or too close to other important structures could set off a chain reaction when destroyed and leave your central base in shambles.
